Question: Is there anything that guests need to bring, such as food preparation items, dishes, toiletries, or bedding/linens that are not furnished with the rental?
Answer: Our vacation properties are fully furnished with all the necessities of being at home, e.g., utensils, glasses, pots and pans, dishes, toiletries, bath towels, toilet paper, bedding, linens, and blankets are all included. What guests may want to consider include: Cell phone for long distance calls, matches, cots, sleeping bags, first aid kit, flashlight, crib for an infant.
 
Question: Where is Ox View located?
Answer: Ox View is located in Crosslake, adjacent to Anchor Point Road on the East side of Rt. 66.  The Location section provides detailed maps to assist in locating the property.
 
Question: Where is Ox Ridge located?
Answer: Ox Ridge is located on the East side of Rt. 66 across from Manhattan Beach lodge on Ox Lake Crossing Road.  The Location section provides detailed maps to assist in locating the property.
 
Question: What stores and other services are available in the Ox Lake area?
Answer: The main stores that come to mind include: Reeds grocery store, Conoco gas station, Subway, and the Holiday gas station/bait store, and Ed’s Bait box. More information about the area is available at www.whitefishchain.com.
 
Question: Are life jackets available for guest use?
Answer: There are a limited number of personal floatation devices (PFD's) available with each property; however, it is recommended that you supply your own to insure sufficient protection.
 
Question: What kind of fish are in Ox Lake?
Answer: Largemouth Bass, Pan Fish and Northern Pike are the most common. The fish are abundant due to guests and residents supporting the catch and release program.
 
Question: Are there any regulations or restrictions regarding fishing on Ox Lake?
Answer: A Minnesota fishing license is required and catch and release is encouraged. More information is available at the following website: Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Regulations, Licenses, and Permits web page.
 
Question: Is hunting permitted in the Ox Lake or nearby areas?
Answer: Seasonal hunting is permitted. Please consult the Minnesota DNR regarding any hunting activities.
 
Question: Is it possible to obtain sporting licenses (hunting/fishing) in the Ox Lake area?
Answer: Yes, the Holiday gas station/bait store.
 
Question: Are motorized boats allowed on Ox Lake?
Answer: Although Ox Lake is a private lake, and is classified as an environmentally protected lake by the Minnesota DNR, motorized boats (both fuel and battery powered engines) are permitted on the lake.
 
Question: Am I allowed to bring and launch my own boat on Ox Lake?
Answer: Ox Lake is a private lake with private access. Because it is also classified as an environmentally protected lake by the Minnesota DNR, boat access for guests has to be discussed and approved on a case-by-case basis.
 
Question: Am I allowed to bring my own motor (and fuel/tank/battery) and use it for the fishing boat that is provided for guest use?
Answer: Yes, this approach is encouraged.  There are no horsepower limitations on Ox Lake.  
 
Question: Are fishing boats and outboard motors provided with the rental?
Answer: Fishing boats and outboard motors are available, but must be rented separately. They are not included in the vacation home rental package due to liability concerns.
 
Question: Are cable or satellite television service included with the rental?
Answer: Basic cable is provided for your television viewing pleasure.  There are no special pay channels provided.
 
Question: Is trash removal service included with the rental?
Answer: No, trash is the responsibility of the tenant. All trash must be removed from the property prior to checkout. The most convenient approach to trash removal is to drop it off at the Conoco station which is located south on Rt. 66 at the intersection with Co. Rd. 16. Garbage left at the property will be removed at the tenants expense, i.e., money will be allocated for garbage removal and clean up from the damage deposit.
 
Question: Is the garage available for use and storage?
Answer: The garage is intended for guest use and can be used for storage.
 
Question: Will the damage deposit check be cashed?
Answer: No, the rental damage deposit will be held and returned, provided the property is not damaged or loss incurred.
 
Question: What kind of craft activities exist in the Ox Lake area?
Answer: There are many craft activities available in the Crosslake, Pequot, Nisswa, and Brainerd locations.
 
Question: What is provided regarding Internet access?
